Consular Assistances

Birth Certificate

The Indonesian Embassy can issue a birth certificate for a child of an Indonesian citizen born in China. The requirements are as follows:
  1. Original passport of the parents;
  2. Original marriage certificate;
  3. Birth certificate from local hospital or the Registration of Birth in China;
  4. Original birth certificate of the parents.

Deceased Indonesian Citizen

If unexpectedly, an Indonesian citizen should die in China and the relative of the deceased is not present or unable to accompany the process of repatriating the deceased to Indonesia, a relative / or next of kin of the deceased may, through power of attorney, delegate the Embassy to verify and allow a casket company to ensure the prompt release of the deceased from the mortuary. By doing so, the casket company can proceed with the repatriation of the body to Indonesia. Documents for the repatriation of the deceased have to be endorsed and legalized by the Indonesian Embassy.

Death Certificate from the Embassy

The Indonesian Embassy can endorse and legalize documents of Chinese casket companies for the purpose of repatriation of deceased Indonesian citizens to Indonesia. The related documents to be endorsed and legalized are as follows:
  1. Death certificate from local hospital or the Registration of Death in PRC;
  2. Export documents;
  3. Embalming certificate;
  4. Sealing certificate.


After applicant fulfills all documents, the Embassy can issue death certificate. Please note that the Indonesian Embassy has to cancel the passport of the deceased before the repatriation of the body to Indonesia.


Un-marriage Certificate from Embassy


For Never Married Indonesian Nationals

  1. Fill application form
  2. Letter of permit from parents
  3. Copy of family card legalized by Lurah and Camat
  4. Copy of passport (show original passport)
  5. Show original Indonesian ID Card.


For Widow/Widower Indonesian Nationals

  1. Fill application form,
  2. Copy of family card legalized by Lurah and Camat.
  3. Divorce certificate legalized by Department of Laws and Human Rights and Directorate of Consular of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
  4. Death Certificate legalized by Department of Laws and Human Rights and Directorate of Consular of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.
  5. Copy of Passport (show the original passport)


Legalization of Documents


The Indonesian Embassy provides translation / legalization service of documents issued in Indonesia to be used in China.
Documents which require legalization are:

  1. Degree/diploma certificates;
  2. Birth certificates;

Marriage certificates;

  1. Death certificates;
  2. Letters of translation;
  3. Letters of agreement;
  4. Business documents;
  5. Bank documents;
  6. Power of Attorney.


Process and fees for legalized documents:

  1. The processing time is three working days, depending on the number and character of the documents.
  2. Bring original documents
  3. Legalization fee is US$. 20.00 per document;
  4. Legalization fee for Letter of Translations are US$ 15.00 per document;
  5. Issuance of Marriage Certificate US$. 20
  6. Issuance of Birth Certificate US$. 10.
  7. Power of Attorney, Bank and Business Documents must be endorsed by a Notary Public and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC;


Court Order
The Indonesian Embassy also provides assistance in conveying court orders issued by the Indonesian Judicial court. The assistance offered is limited to certain cases only as long as the address in China is clear and complete.
Protection and Advisory


Foreign Missions of the Republic of Indonesia are obliged to foster unity and harmony amongst Indonesian citizens abroad. Furthermore, Embassies are also required to provide a sense of security, protection, and legal aid to Indonesian citizens and Indonesian legal bodies abroad, in conformity with national legislation and international law and practice.
In the efforts to increase the protection of Indonesian citizens and legal bodies in China, the Indonesian Embassy will assist the Indonesian citizens and companies to appoint Chinese legal advisors / lawyers for those who undergoing trial in China and provide counseling for discontent Indonesian citizens and companies in legal dispute with certain Chinese individuals or relevant establishments via officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing.
