The Directorate of South and Central Asia and the Directorate General for Asia, the Pacific and Africa of the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, in cooperation with the Tourism Agency of Yogyakarta’s Provincial Government will hold the Indonesia – Central Asian Countries Business Seminar at the Phoenix Hotel in Yogyakarta from 30 to 31 July 2010.
The seminar is intended to facilitate an exchange of view and experience among the stakeholders in the tourism industry and to improve the cooperation with the hope to attract sightseers from the Central Asian countries (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) to visit tourist sites in Indonesia.
The event will be in the form of interactive dialogues and one-on-one meetings between the participants. The 100 participants range from representatives of Indonesian companies engaged in the tourism industry to representatives from the central and provincial governments, academicians, the media and Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Embassies in Jakarta, in addition to the Kazakhstan Embassy in Kuala Lumpur which is accredited to Indonesia.
Besides the interactive dialogues, the event includes a field trip to a number of cultural and marine tourist sites in Yogyakarta such as the Keraton or the Sultan’s Palace, Parang Tritis Beach, Kasongan, performance of the Ramayana Traditional Dance and the magnificent Prambanan Temple.
