A “Very Satisfying” Predicate for Indonesian Student in Tunis

In the public dissertation defence on 22 May 2012 in Tunis, Muhammad Rusydi, a post graduate student in Sharia Faculty Université Ezztouna, Tunis, passed with “Hasan Jiddan” (very satisfying) predicate. Rusydi managed to defend his dissertation entitled “Maqasid Dimension in Sharia Application in Aceh, Indonesia : Qanun Khalwat, Maisir and Khamr as Samples”.

Local and foreign students, including Indonesian students studying at the university, attended the dissertation defence. The event was also attended by representatives from Indonesian Embassy in Tunis and some Indonesian citizens.

Muhammad Rusydi is one out of 9 post-graduate students who received scholarships from the Local Government of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam to study at Université Ezztouna, Tunis.

Currently, there are 49 Indonesian students in Tunisia, 44 of whom are studying at Université Ezztouna. (source: Indonesian Embassy in Tunis/YS/MYz)
